How does a Right to Safety (RTS) Certification impact your organization?

GTES, LLC’s ideal clients are learning institutions, churches, workplaces, and faith-based communities. GTES seeks to empower these entities with tools to increase the health and safety of their employees, members, and/or participants. GTES wants to ensure employers, clergy, and leaders are equipped to respond safely and appropriate to incidents of domestic violence.

How to obtain a Right to Safety (RTS) Certification

After successfully completing the Right to Safety (RTS) training program, individuals and workplaces are eligible for certification. 

  • RTS Certified Workplace
  • RTS Certified Responder

Recertification for all certifications occurs annually. 

GT Empowerment Services, LLC provides the following to all RTS Certified learning institutions, churches, workplaces and faith-based communities:

  • Regional domestic violence intervention services and shelters
  • Up-to-date intervention resources and materials
  • Viable referral agencies
  • Knowledge of emergency funding and transition assistance for victims/survivors
  • Knowledge of available trainings
  • Quarterly regional RTS Responder support groups
  • Annual Global RTS Training & Networking
  • Annual RTS Re-Certification Training
  • GTES support and consultation

Learning institutions, churches, workplaces and faith-based communities are certified as a result of a staff, or member being certified. GTES’ team provides support and serves as consultants for all RTS Responders with current certifications.

Workplace RTS Certification Requirements 
  • Executive Director or Human Resources signed acknowledgement and certification agreement.
  • Staff person(s) complete 12 hours (six two-hour sessions) of live training by GTES team.
  • Satisfactorily complete simulated DV disclosure and next steps protocols.
  • Post RTS decal and certification.
Church & Faith based Community RTS Certification Requirements
  • Pastor or Leader signed acknowledgement and certification agreement.
  • Designated member(s) complete 12 hours (six two-hour sessions) of live training by GTES team.
  • Satisfactorily complete simulated DV disclosure and next steps protocols.
  • Post RTS decal and certification.

Are there different certifications?

There is just one certification. The workplace, church or faith community is certified by way of the staff or member being certified. 

What does certification mean? 
  • Certification means that workplaces, church and faith community have the appropriate tools to respond effectively to DV disclosures. It is inevitable that someone in your workplace, church or faith community is being hurt at home or at work. Being RTS certified shows your reciprocating commitment to your staff/members.
  • Being certified also gives you access to GTES’ resource portal, contact with other RTS responders, and being recognized nationally as a workplace, church, faith community that cares about the personal safety of its people. 
What is the recertification process?
  • Signed acknowledgement and certification agreement.
  • Designated staff/member complete 2 hours (one two-hour session) of live training by GTES team.
  • Post current RTS decal and certification.
